I had the pleasure of hearing some of the story from the book Approaching Neverland: A memoir of Epic Tragedy & Happily Ever After at my Rotary Club today. I felt compelled to multiply the message of the author Peggy Kennedy and her mission to raise awareness about mental illness. She told me that 1 in 6 adults have a form of mental illness and 1 in 4 families have a family member who suffers some form of mental illness. In her call to action she suggested that we support the National Alliance on Mental Illness or NAMI. I believe awareness about these issues is very important in creating and maintaining healthy communities.
