Hi folks, thanks for visiting my about page. The Joe in Joe's Gone Social is Joe Hackman, that's me pictured on the right next to the fascinating Chief Salaton Ole Ntutu. You also may be wondering why I chose "Joe's Gone Social" I explained that back in 2010. This is my second personal blog. My first blog was hosted at Wordpress.com and was primarily about my experiences as a member of the Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary and volunteering with non profits and people making a difference in this world. It was entitled "Reasonable Ideas". I still cover reasonable ideas but I also cover a gambit of subjects including technology, gadgets, social media, information technology, public speaking and as my header so aptly describes "more". I Podcast about many of these topics and really enjoy have conversations with interesting people. If you think that sounds interesting, you might be a great candidate for my Podcast.

Being in the IT Industry

In January of 1997 I founded Managed Solutions. I am your typical entrepreneur and I wear many hats but the most important one is as virtual CIO to many companies. After 15 years I still love the IT field and I am now more than ever concerned about the legacy I leave behind in the industry.

Family and friends in Danville, CA

Since 2005 I've live with my family in Danville, CA (about 45 minutes East of San Francisco for those unfamiliar with the Bay Area). I enjoy exploring the world through my sons eyes and we've had some really amazing adventures so far. I don't often write about them but maybe I should!

Since 2009 I've been involved with Web Development using this amazing platform. This has been a fun return to work I did back in the late 1990's and early 2000's.

Photography

I love photography, but I mostly suck at it. What I lack in skill I make up for with quantity. I figure if I take enough pictures a couple will turn out great. Here is one of my personal favorites:
